City promotes new department head

A ten-year employee with the City of Hazlehurst has been promoted to superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department, replacing the retiring former department head Loyd Hilliard.

Jason Hilliard, no relation to Loyd, was named the new superintendent by the town’s Board of Alderman at last Tuesday’s monthly board meeting.  Hilliard, a native of Hazlehurst, has passed Class II Certification for sewer ad has earned his water certification.
