This weekend’s local events will make you forget football

Pry yourself away from your big screen this weekend and get out and enjoy the events that are overflowing the schedule in your communities this weekend.

The MSU Extension Service’s Fall Flower and Garden Show starts Friday and runs through Saturday afternoon.  Take it from a ten-year veteran of attending this event, Bulldog football isn’t the only top-ranked team that comes out of Mississippi State.

Fresh, locally-grown produce will be flooding the Copiah County Farmers’ Market in downtown Hazlehurst this Saturday morning, too.  Stop by and get yours and say ‘thank you’ to David Yowell, Manager of the Farmers Market and the vendors who have faithfully set up each Saturday the past few months.

Continue your splendid fall journey on to Wesson for the 2014 Volunteer Fire Department Flea Market Show and Sale.  The annual event is a fundraiser for the department and helps protect residents of our county. Vendors number around 100 and local businesses will offer many specials.
Be football-free for most of this Saturday and support these local events with your attendance.

Parking and admission is even free!
