MTK holds Bunco tournament

LAST YEAR’S TOURNAMENT – Sharon Marler, Betty Cline, and Lucy McCormick were among the ladies who enjoyed the 2013 Bunco Tournament.

The Mississippi’s Toughest Kids Foundation (MTK) is hoping ladies from Crystal Springs and Hazlehurst, as well as, those from Jackson to McComb and all areas in between will participate in the second annual Bunco Tournament fund raiser.  It’s not too late to purchase tickets from the MTK office; come by or call us at 601-892-1117, we’ll be delighted to hold your tickets at the door.

Last year almost 100 ladies participate and event organizer Linda Channell is hoping to double that number this year.  Lunch will be served at 11:00 followed by a fast paced and exciting tournament.  Winners will be especially pleased with this year’s prizes and valuable gift bags will be given to all attending.

Money raised at the tournament will go toward the payment of MTK land on which a camp facility will soon be built for children and adults with serious illnesses and special needs.  Each of the 326 acres purchased cost $1840.  Last year, with the extra help of a very nice donation, the tournament raised enough to cover the cost of two acres.  Organizers expect to repeat or exceed that this year.

The Bunco Tournament will be Saturday, November 15, 11:00-2:30, in the old Dollar General building in Crystal Springs located next to Ramey’s.  Tickets are $25 each which includes lunch, gift bag, and right to play.   Don’t miss the chance to help a deserving local charity and don’t miss out on the fun!
