Rubel Parm Cowart, Jr., died suddenly on December 13, 2014 in Hazlehurst.
Visitation is 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, with funeral services to follow at the church at 2:00 pm, with interment in the Hazlehurst Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mr. Cowart was born on October 1, 1940. He was predeceased by his parents Rubel Parm Cowart and Rosamond Massa Cowart. He was a graduate of Hazlehurst High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi State University in 1962 and a Master of Science Degree from Louisiana State University in 1965. Prior to retirement he was employed at the Mississippi State Pesticide Laboratory in Starkville. In college he was a member of the Famous Maroon Band. A lifelong supporter of Mississippi State University, he was a member of the Bulldog Club. He was a member of the Romeo Dining Club. He was a founding member and deacon of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Starkville, Mississippi.
Mr. Cowart is survived by his Aunt Dean Cowart and cousins, Franz Larry Cowart, Joe Martin Cowart and Pamela C. Irvin.
