Mary Cheroni

Mary Kathleen Cheroni, 91, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Pine Crest Guest Home in Hazlehurst. 

Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Tuesday at Damascus Baptist Church.  Services will be 10am Wednesday at Damascus Baptist Church with burial at Damascus Cemetery.  Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

 

Mrs. Cheroni was a native of Portsmith, England.  She came to the USA 67 years ago.  She served in the Royal Air Force during WWII and served as a private duty nurse.  She was the oldest member of Damascus Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by sons, Ray Cheroni and Bobby Cheroni (Beverly) all of Hazlehurst; daughter, Marilyn Cheroni of Hazlehurst; grandson, Robert Clayton Cheroni of Hazlehurst; step-granddaughter, Katrina Calhoon of Laurel; and 3 great grandchildren.
