Lady Colonels nipped by E. Rankin

The Copiah Lady Colonels met the East Rankin Lady Patriots in Pelahatchie last Tuesday night, falling late 48-39.

Copiah trailed by one point at 15-14 after the first period.  The Lady Colonels wrestled the lead away by halftime, leading 26-23 after the second period.

Copiah then expanded the lead to five at 35-30 after the third quarter.

The Lady Patriots, coached by former Copiah athlete Rod Delaney, stepped up their defense in the fourth period, however, holding Copiah to just four points while scoring 18.

Kamryn Vanlandingham scored 16 for CA.  She also grabbed 2 rebounds and dished 4 assists.  Lindsey Walker led Copiah on the boards with 10 rebounds.  Victoria Allen also dished out 4 assists.

Copiah hosted Lamar in a division match-up on Tuesday night.  The Colonels travel to Parklane on Thursday for another conference game.  Presbyterian Christian comes to Copiah on Friday for a division affair.
