Jane was one of twelve brothers and sisters, all of whom graduated from Winona High School. The family was very active in the First Baptist Church of Winona. Jane met the love of her life, her husband of 68 years, in high school during their 10th grade year. H.C. Rose and family moved to Winona in 1943, and their first Sunday in Winona, H.C. met Jane at Church. While waiting for H.C. to return from serving in the Navy during World War II, Jane lived in Jackson with two of her sisters and worked at Knox Bottle Company. Jane and H.C. were married three and a half years after they first met on January 24, 1947. The couple lived in Oxford while H.C. completed pharmacy school at Ole Miss. While in Oxford, Jane and H.C. attended First Baptist Church of Oxford.

Jane and H.C. moved back to Jackson in May of 1949 where Jane went back to work for Knox
Bottle Company, and H.C. worked for Patterson Rexall Drugs. Both of them were active members of First Baptist Church of Jackson. In 1952, the couple moved to Shreveport, Louisiana , where H.C worked for the Parke Davis Drug Company. They were active members of Broadmoor Baptist Church. In 1956, the couple moved to Hazlehurst and were in business at City Drug Store and Mid City Drugs.

Jane was blessed with four children-Mike, Harriet (deceased), Mark, and Karen. These children
became a pharmacist, electrical engineer, and a CPA. Jane was always supportive of her husband in vocational decisions, working as a bookkeeper in the family business. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. She enjoyed participating in her children’s activities. They resided in Hazlehurst 50 years until the couple retired, and they moved to the Waterford in Ridgeland in March, 2006. At the Waterford, Jane enjoyed all the social activities, and was active in the Still Water Church at the Waterford.
