Guess who’s coming to town? Dave Roberts will bring his weather expertise to the members and guests of the Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) on Tuesday, September 3. He will speak at 10:30 a.m. in the Thames Center on the Co-Lin campus, with lunch immediately following.
Chief Meteorologist for WLBT and FOX 40 Jackson TV stations, Dave came to Jackson 20 years ago as one of the youngest and most talented Chief Meteorologists in Jackson TV history. He has a real passion for the extreme weather we have here and says it is always interesting. He holds the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. His forecasts are comprehensive and entertaining.
Joy Wesbrook, President, welcomed a large crowd of members and guests on Aug. 18. “We are looking forward to a busy fall with activities sure to be of interest. There is a day trip to Baton Rouge Sept. 22, a day trip to the Mississippi Supreme Court and Capitol Building in Jackson on Nov. 6, and our very own Antiques Road Show Nov. 10. These are just a few of the events. A wonderful surprise trip is on the agenda in the spring, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
