Owners of two dilapidated properties on Carlisle Street in Hazlehurst have less than 20 days to clean up and repair the structures before the city takes razes and places liens on the properties. The measure was approved during last Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
Both properties lie in Ward 1, which is represented by Frank Jones.
“We have gone through all the letter writing and the entire legal process. It’s time we get this done because those properties are a threat to the safety of our residents,” Jones said, drawing agreement from the four other aldermen.
