It’s incredible how fast things move this time of year. It’s like we are trying to cram a year’s worth of running around here and there into about 40 days between the middle of November and Christmas Day.
We all need to slow down for a few minutes each day and consider the gifts that we are presented each day. They come from the Lord himself. What blessings have you experienced this year?
What new people have come into your lives? What relationships with friends and family have become stronger? Perhaps someone helped you with a problem you had been having, or maybe even unexpectedly lifted you up in a time of need. Maybe your blessings include arriving home safely after your workday, or that traffic runs smoothly during your daily commute.
Think about these things and give thanks to our Father for them each and every day. Be thankful for your wives and husbands, children and grandchildren, mothers and fathers and grandmothers and grandfathers and so on. Life is too short and too precious not to be.
