Joe E. McManus, 96, of Terry, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Central Mississippi Medical Center.
Visitation will be 12pm-1pm Saturday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Graveside services will be 1pm Saturday at Terry Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
Mr. McManus was born in Crystal Springs to Joe and Samatha McManus. He was a veteran of World War II. After returning home, he was a farmer, carpenter and small business owner. Mr. McManus was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charlie McManus and John E. McManus of Terry, and sister, Alice Conley of Crystal Springs.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mildred McManus; son, Truman (Nasa) McManus of Terry; daughters, Joan Garth (Joe) of Terry and Jan Matthews (Jackie) of Canton; grandchildren, Jeff McManus, Jennifer McManus, Carla Garth of Terry, and Emily Matthews of Canton; and 2 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
