Callie Stokes
Callie Ray Pell Stokes departed her earthly body to join our Father in Heaven on June 23, 2016.
Visitation will be 9am-11am Monday at Sardis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11am Monday at Sardis Baptist Church with burial at Sardis Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Callie was a selfless and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her life caring for her children, grandchildren, and others. She was a faithful Christian woman who spent much of her time studying God’s word.
Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lacy Stokes, sons, Roy Jr. and Ronnie Stokes, sisters, Irene Kent, Christine Hodges, and Linda Pearce, brother, Theodore Pell, Jr., grandson, Dakota Poor, and her parents, Theodore and Frances Pell and Beatrice Bailey.
She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Alice Pell of Greenville and Susan Pell Hill of Meridian, children, Cathy Stokes, Sandi and husband Michael Rand, Patty and husband Steve Jackson, Aubrey Stokes and Audrey and husband Brad Poor, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
