The City of Hazlehurst Board of Aldermen and Mayor met with all present on Tuesday, July 5.
The poor condition of city streets was a hot topic at the monthly meeting. Many streets throughout the city pose public health and safety hazards, prompting members to vote to issue a bond to begin repair and asphalt work, rather than waiting on the anticipated Department of Transportation TIGER grant (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) anticipated to fund the work.
