FBC hosts prayer service

First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst is hosting “A Time for Prayer/United in Prayer for Our Community” on Wednesday, August 10.  The event begins at 6:00 p.m., and law enforcement officers and first responders are invited.
“Far too often now we watch as hatred and animosity are unleashed on our brothers an sisters, friends and neighbors based on the color of their skin, the uniform they are wearing or the political views they might hold,” said Dr. John Matthews, pastor of the church, in a letter to the community.   “If there is to be a change, it must start in the heart.  It must start in our hearts,” he added.
Everyone in the community is invited to participate.  First Baptist Church is located at 151 Caldwell Drive, on the corner of Robert McDaniel Drive.
