ILR to meet Sept. 8; Sept. 14 trip planned

The Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) will meet Thursday, September 8, 10:30 a.m. at the Thames Center at Co-Lin.  Trudy Johnson, a Brookhaven singer, will entertain during lunch.  Immediately after lunch Idella Byrd of KDMC will conduct a Sit/Fit workshop, showing us exercises that can be done at home with little or no equipment but a chair.  Sharon Langley follows up with a Balance Workshop with exercises designed to maintain good balance, which helps prevent falls.  (Bring appropriate shoes.)
President Nora Berch invites everyone who could not attend the August 23 kickoff meeting to come on September 8.  Members will be available to share all that information with you.
On September 14 the group will visit the Mississippi Music Museum in Hazlehurst and the museum at the Iron Horse Grill in Jackson, where we will eat lunch.  On the way we will tour Signature Works in Hazlehurst, formerly known as Royal Maid Workshop for the Blind.  The cost is $10.
