Buell Roscoe “Rusty” Carty, III

Funeral services for Mr. Buell Roscoe “Rusty” Carty, III will be on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Beauregard United Methodist Church in Wesson, MS, at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Wesson Cemetery. Bro. Tom McCormick will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez drive) in Brookhaven, MS, on Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Beauregard United Methodist Church in Wesson, MS, on Friday, September 2, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Mr. Carty, 66, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS. He was born on October 22, 1949, in New Orleans, LA, to Buell Roscoe (Jr.) and Alyce Ray Carty. He graduated from Co-Lin High School where he was active in various organizations. He graduated from Whitworth College in Brookhaven, MS. He was a retired teacher from Bogue Chitto High School. He was also a retired pastor with the Mississippi United Methodist Church. He pastored Beauregard United Methodist Church in Wesson, MS, and New Hebron United Methodist Church in New Hebron, MS. He was an active member of Beauregard United Methodist Church. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Buell Roscoe (Jr.) and Alyce Ray Carty; grandparents, C. A. (Sr.) and Pearl Hennington Ray, and Buell Roscoe (Sr.) and Hazel Carty; brother, Phillip Ray Carty; and an infant brother.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Billie Remington Carty of Wesson, MS; daughter, Dr. Leslie Anne Carty of Wesson, MS; son, Troy Edward “Eddie” Carty of Brandon, MS; brother, Joseph Staffler Carty and wife Sherri of Madison, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
