Alice Marie Young Rogers

Alice Marie Young Rogers, 72, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, October 31, 2016.

A visitation will be held from 4pm-5pm Thursday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.

Alice affectionately called “Mo” by her grandchildren was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Alice was born March 29, 1944, a true caregiver to so many providing love, support, council, and friendship.  She was a loyal and devoted wife for 49 years to Charles Rogers before he passed away in 2014.  Alice cared for and nursed Charles for 13 years after he suffered a massive stroke.  Alice was truly an example of how to be a loyal, humble Christian, serving others before her own needs, she was a beautiful person inside and out.  Alice was diagnosed with cancer in September of 2015.  After a long battle that she fought with courage and grace, the Lord took her to be with Him.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy; son, Charlie and his wife Ashley; and 2 grandchildren, Aidan and Alex Grace that were her entire world.  Alice will live on in the hearts of so many lives she has touched.  She will be remembered as a woman of strength, spunk, beauty and grace in the hearts of the loved ones she left behind.
