County organizations involved with Harvey recovery

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Copiah County is getting involved in helping with the clean up of the Texas and Louisiana survivors.
TRACTOR SUPPLY
The Tractor Supply of Hazlehurst, is taking donations for the rescued animals at animal shelters who are stranded, dirty, and hungry (ranging from cats, dogs, horses, to cows etc.). The FFA Group from Lloyd Star with Mr. Billy Sumrall has teamed up with Tractor Supply (Hazlehurst location) in this effort to pick up and take the donations to animal shelter locations in the affected areas. Any contribution is appreciated even if it is just a bottle of dog shampoo or a tube of horse wormer.
At this time, a cut-off date has not been determined. The store information is listed if there are questions.

NATIONAL NEWSPAPER ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION
Imagine… You are putting out your newspaper, watching the water slowly rise as flood warnings sound around town.
The water is at the curb, then the doorstep, then inside the shop.
Your staff is determined to put out the paper anyway. By the end of the day, you realize you are running for your lives.
It could happen to anyone. It DID happen in Texas. Community newspapers are fighting to survive Hurricane Harvey.
Please help them. Donate to the National Newspaper Association Foundation. Funds will be devoted to public service messages in the affected newspapers about the importance of an informed public during a catastrophe. Help them help their readers.
The National Newspaper Association Foundation (NNAF) is the educational arm of the National Newspaper Association (NNA). Its mission is to promote news literacy, protect the First Amendment, and enhance the quality, role and capabilities of community newspapers and community journalists. Donations are tax-deductible.
