Go vote!! State election is Tuesday

Copiah County voters have the opportunity to go to the polls Tuesday to cast votes for Mississippi and Copiah County’s leadership for the next four years. A couple of races locally will be decided on Tuesday’s general election ballot but most will be district and statewide races. A sample ballot for Copiah County is printed below and everyone is encouraged to do their civic duty by casting a ballot. The more voter participation there is, the better the election system works. Deadline for Absentee is noon Saturday The deadline to cast an absentee ballot in Tuesday’s election is Saturday. The Copiah County Circuit Clerk’s office in the courthouse in Hazlehurst will be open for absentee voting from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday. If you will be away from the county for any reason on election day, you are eligible to cast an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots can also be cast from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the circuit clerk’s office for the rest of this week
