Tigers win their way to the round of 16 Crystal Springs High School won its first playoff game since 1989 last season. This past Friday night the team traveled to Forest and doubled that number with the second playoff win since 1989, this time 35 – 14. The Tigers travel to Bassfield Friday to play Jefferson Davis County in the “Sweet 16.” Other playoff games last week cast Crystal Springs’ 6 – 3 regular season record in a different light. The three losses were to other district teams who are also in the playoffs representing District 6-3A. Each of the three won its playoff game Friday night: Raleigh beat Kemper County 38 – 14, Velma Jackson beat Morton 54 – 6, and Yazoo County beat Southeast Lauderdale 27 – 20. McNair hopes for a good crowd in Bassfield Friday night and a quick start from his team.
