Retail coach working to build Crystal Springs businesses
If community and business leaders have their way, Crystal Springs businesses may soon get a boost from efforts to enhance business opportunities and capture tourism dollars. The City of Crystal Springs and The Crystal Springs Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Retail Strategies of Starkville to identify ways to build the business community. Jenn Gregory, representing the company, made a presentation to the membership of the Chamber of Commerce Monday and explained the services her company will be offering to the community. The process is underway, and once complete, reports on how to benefit from community events and tourism, missing business categories in the community, and, ultimately leads on businesses that could possibly be persuaded to locate in the city will be presented. Gregory said downtown redevelopment doesn’t just happen. It takes a lot of work and a community-wide, team effort. Crystal Springs Mayor Sally Garland said Crystal Springs is on the brink or rising to the next level that she hopes the partnership with Retail Strategies will help the city achieve that goal. Chamber Executive Director Shelly Jackson said the organization is doing this for the business community. “We want it to be better,” Shelly said as the meeting closed.
