’Benefit of Love Concert’ Sunday for Jordyn Braxton
A “Benefit of Love Concert” will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 for Jordyn Lewis Donnell Braxton. The concert will be held at The Copiah County Ministerial Alliance Christian Center in Hazlehurst. Jordyn, “Heart Warrior,” was born with a heart defect called Tetralogy Of Fallot (TOF). He has had two open heart surgeries. At birth Oct. 23, 2018 he weighed five pounds 14 ounces. He remained three weeks in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson. He also has Digeorge Syndrome which affects his calcium level. Jordyn had open heart surgery at nine months old. During recovry Jordyn had a stroke, seizures and blood clots, urinary tract infection, staph infection, and kidney problems. Open heart surgery number two was Sept. 24, 2019 at 11 months. Upon his discharge from the hospital he had a feeding tube and was given IV medication every eight hours for a month. He requires an in-home around the clock nurse to assist with his medical care. Jordyn returned to the hospital Dec. 9 for another surgery. His feeding tube was placed in his stomach. His team of caregivers is keeping him comfortable. The family is prayerfully considering having Jordyn attend the concert in his honor. Jordyn is the son of Jerry Braxton Jr. and Miesha Holloway. His grandparents are Lloyd and Gloria Thompson, Tony and Doris Barlow and Jerry Sr. and Sylvia Braxton. Jordyn’s sisters and brothers are Jerrineshia, Jenia’, Jaylon, Marvin, Ja’Kavion, Taylor, Austin and Alex.
