February 10 deadline for Master Gardener class

The Copiah County Master Gardeners group is involved in many projects such as the Butterfly Garden at the Truck Crops Experiment Station. Register by February 10 to take the Master Gardener class that begins February 25 at the Copiah County Extension Service building in Gallman.


By Tricia Nelson Anyone interested in plants, getting their hands dirty, and having fun will enjoy becoming a Master Gardener. One becomes a Master Gardner by taking a 40 hour class offered through a Mississippi State University (MSU) County Extension Office. There are multiple county extensions across the state and Copiah County will offer the class at the extension building in Gallman. Classes will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., starting February 25 and running through March 31. Lectures will be conducted live through the MSU Video Extension System. The cost of the class is $100 which includes a binder with all lecture materials.
