Drinking water well nearing completion

The final stages of well completion on the new city drinking water well on Harmony Road is underway according to the Kuhlman Cleanup News for January. The permanent pump has been installed and the well is undergoing final testing for yield and water quality. Tests show favorable results. Final water quality tests will be sent to the state and upon approval of final test results, the controls and piping will be installed for connection to the city water system once the new pipeline is installed. Specifications for the new water supply pipeline will be prepared for solicitation of quotes by various contractors. Other Projects The soil vapor extraction system at the plant continues to work efficiently and effectively with annual maintenance scheduled in late January. The semiannual groundwater monitoring report is being submitted to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality with the next sampling scheduled for March.
