Farm Service Agency office moving to Lincoln County
In their March 10 meeting, Copiah Supervisors were advised that the Farm Service Agency will be moving to Brookhaven. Arrangements were made to contact the congressional delegation in an attempt to keep the service in Hazlehurst. This transfer follows the loss of the unemployment office previously. Field work on the Hartley Lane railroad crossing upgrade north of Crystal Springs is complete, and site planning is underway. Six to nine months is the expected time for completion of this project. Claims totaling $3,359,328 were allowed, which included several one-time items, leaving only about $1.8 million in normal charges. The board adjourned to meet again at 9 a.m. April 6
