Wesson Class of 2020 honor graduates
It takes many years of dedication and persistence to reach the Valedictorian and Salutatorian status in high school. The Wesson Attendance Center staff is proud to present the four students who worked diligently to earn these top honors in the graduating class of 2020.

Riley Virginia Smith
Riley Virginia Smith – Valedictorian
Smith is the daughter of Marion and Donna Smith. She was the recipient of the Lincoln County Sale of Champions 2020 Scholarship and Co-Lin Leadership Scholarship. She is a member of Lincoln County 4-H, where she participates in livestock projects and shooting sports. She has been selected to compete in the 2020 MS 4-H Skill-a-thon Invitational. She is a member of the ACT Platinum Club at Wesson. Smith is a dual-enrollment student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. She attends Sylvarena Baptist Church. Her future plans are to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College and major in agribusiness and further her education at Mississippi State University.

Shelbi Leann Maxwell
Shelbi Leann Maxwell – Salutatorian
Maxwell is the daughter of Jason and Michelle Berch. She was chosen as Miss Wesson, Senior Class Favorite, Most Athletic, and Senior Most Beautiful. She is a Superintendent’s honor roll student and a member of the Senior Beta Club. She is a dual-enrollment student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and has been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. Maxwell is on the varsity softball, basketball, and cheer teams and is also a member of the cross country team. She is a member of the ACT Gold Club and is co-president of the student council. Maxwell is a member of Decell Memorial United Methodist Church and is a Junior Ambassador for the Wesson Chamber of Commerce. Her future plans are to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College on a softball scholarship and major in nursing.

Catherine Grace Wilson
Catherine Grace Wilson – Salutatorian
Wilson is the daughter of Albert and Deona Wilson. She was chosen as Most Popular by her classmates and as the Lindy Callahan Scholarship Nominee for Wesson. She is a member of the varsity softball team and the cheer team. She has been a student council officer for three years and is currently serving as co-president. Wilson is editor of the yearbook staff and is serving as vice-president of her senior class. She is a member of the Senior Beta Club and the ACT Gold Club. She is a dual-enrollment student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and has been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. She is a member of Wesson Baptist Church and is currently serving as a Junior Ambassador for the Wesson Chamber of Commerce. Her future goals are to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College on a softball scholarship majoring in accounting and further her education at Mississippi State University.

Alice Claire Crow
Alice Claire Crow – Salutatorian
Anna Claire Crow is the daughter of Bradley and Becca Crow and Stan and Claire Rasberry. She was chosen by the student body to be the 2019 Homecoming Queen. She is an editor of the yearbook staff and is serving as secretary of her senior class. Crow is a member of the varsity softball teams, the cheer team, and the golf team. She is a dual-enrollment student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and has been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. She is a member of the ACT Silver Club and the Senior Beta Club. Crow is a member of Little Bahala Baptist Church and is a Junior Ambassador for the Wesson Chamber of Commerce. Anna Claire’s future plans are to attend Southwest Mississippi Community College on a softball scholarship majoring in accounting and further her education at Mississippi State University.
