Hazlehurst High School Top Honors

Hazlehurst High School has announced their top students for the 2019-2020 school year. Jaden Crump has been named valedictorian, and Kaitlyn McMillian has been named salutatorian.
Crump is the son of Terrence and Seneca Crump. In the fall, he plans to attend Xavier University of Louisiana as a pre-medicine biology major. His goal is to eventually attend medical school and become an anesthesiologist with a specialty in orthopedics.
McMillian is the daughter of Angel and Earl McMillian Jr. She has attended the Hazlehurst City School District since Pre-K and has always been an honor roll student. She attends New Mount Zion M.B. Church and is a member of Girl Scouts of Greater Miss. In her four years at Hazlehurst High School, she has been a part of HOSA and the Yearbook Committee. In her senior year, she has served as Miss Hazlehurst High School. Through dual enrollment and summer courses, McMillian has completed all prerequisites and will begin Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Nursing Program in the fall. She plans to eventually receive her Doctorate of Nursing Practice and work as a neonatal nurse practitioner.
