On May 26, cadets from Hazlehurst High School came together by remembering the sacrifices of all military veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Hazlehurst Mayor Shirley Sandifer gave pertinent instructions and expectations to all cadets for proper flag placement to commemorate past military warriors in recognition of this Memorial Day. Cadets were focused, determined, and dedicated to the mission and task at hand. All pictured cadets are set to return to the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program next school year. The continued leadership, service learning, and community service displayed by these young leaders of the 21st Century sets the example for other youth in the Hazlehurst community. Major Retired James Gee and Mayor Sandifer are proud of the cadets and their constant call to duty throughout this past year.
