Katie Ruth Cammack

Katie Ruth Cammack, 82, of Gallman, passed away June 1, 2021. Born in Crystal Springs on July 4, 1938, Katie lived her life with all the energy and passion that one would expect from someone born on July 4th.
A graduate and cheerleader of Terry High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Maurice Cammack Jr., in 1956. During the next 59 years of marriage, Katie traveled the world with Maurice during his almost 30-year career in the U.S. Army. The happy couple eventually retired and settled down in Gallman, where Katie was able to become more involved with her love of gardening and arranging flowers, serving as president of the Crystal Springs Floral Club and serving as the club’s chairman at the Mississippi Federation of Women’s Clubs Convention.
Katie’s beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and her unfettered loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys will be forever missed by everyone that knew her.
Katie is survived by her daughter, Mary Rene’ Simpson (wife of Randy Simpson), of Morton; son, William Cammack, of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Courtney Rene’ McInnis (wife of R.J. McInnis); grandsons, Brandon and Bradley Simpson; great-grandson, Colston McInnis; and great-granddaughter, Mary Landry McInnis.
A funeral service was held June 4 at Stringer Family Chapel, with burial at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs handled arrangements.
