Earnestine “Doll” Lofton Smith

Earnestine “Doll” Lofton Smith, 86, passed away May 25, 2021. A funeral service was held June 2 at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Hazlehurst, with Rev. Troy Smith officiating. Interment followed at Social Relief Cemetery, New Salem M.B. Church.
Earnestine, affectionately called “Doll” was born in Copiah County on Sept. 16, 1934, to David and Mamie Cain Lofton. She was accepted into Christ at an early age and united with the New Salem M.B. Church and later with Clear Creek II M.B. Church.
Earnestine transitioned and was gathered unto her ancestors in the presence of her daughters, Mamie and Lillian.
Earnestine worked and retired from Sanderson Farms after many years of dedicated service.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Leroy Smith; parents; four brothers; one sister; and six sons.
Earnestine leaves to cherish her loving memory: two sisters, Willie B. Green, of Jackson; Virginia Harvey, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, John (Lozell) Womack; three daughters, Mamie Lewis, of Hazlehurst, Nadine (Ronald) Nelson, of Jackson; Lillian (Melvin) Terrell, of Crystal Springs; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
