Donations sought for victims of Hurricane Ida

The Copiah County Sheriff’s Office is asking for donations of relief supplies for the Jefferson Parish, La., Sheriff’s Office. The parish is part of the greater New Orleans area, which received heavy damage from Hurricane Ida recently.
Items needed are men’s and women’s underclothes such as T-shirts and socks; cleaning products, including laundry detergent; hygiene products; paper products; diapers; wipes; and vacuum-packed foods that do not require cooking. Items may be dropped off at the local Sheriff’s Office from now until 4 p.m. Sept. 21. Items can also be dropped off at Crystal Springs City Hall and Hazlehurst City Hall.
