Mississippi Farmers Market to host Summer Kick-Off event

The Mississippi Farmers Market Summer Kick-Off is a come-and-go event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 15. The market will feature an antique car display in the market parking lot (weather permitting), blueberry lemonade beverages from Genuine MS member J&D Blueberry Farm, gourmet popsicles, and other summer-themed items from the market’s weekly vendor lineup.

“We look forward to welcoming the community at the Mississippi Farmers Market for its annual Summer Kick-Off event,” said Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson. “We invite the public to enjoy the bounty that summer brings from our state’s rich soil this Saturday.”

In addition to seasonal produce, shoppers will find a variety of beef, poultry, pork, and lamb cuts; dairy products such as milk and cheeses; eggs; honey; coffee; jams and jellies; breads and other baked goods; sauces and dressings; canned foods; flowers and plants; and much more at the Saturday market.

The Farmers Market Café, located inside of the Mississippi Farmers Market, is open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every weekday and 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday. For daily menu schedules, visit the Farmers Market Café on Facebook.
