MDOT warns motorists to take care in wintry weather

JACKSON, MISS., Friday, January 25, 2008-The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to announce to motorists traveling on Mississippi roadways to be aware of icy conditions while traveling through the state.

We are expecting a mixture of light sleet and rain today across the state specifically in North and Central Mississippi. We do have reports of some ice accumulations in Warren County on some bridges and overpasses. MDOT urge motorists to remain alert and watch out for icy conditions. MDOT personnel throughout the state are monitoring the weather and will take whatever measures necessary to keep Mississippi roadways safe.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) asks motorists to remember to wear your seat belt and drive with extreme caution when approaching bridges and overpasses.
