Wesson crowned 6-2A champs

The Wesson Cobras earned the district championship of division 6-2A Monday evening off the baseball field.

The Cobras were notified by Ennis Proctor, Director of the Mississippi High School Activities Association, that they were the district champs due to Madison St. Joseph’s use of an ineligible player.  The Cobras, who thought they would be traveling to Union Friday evening, travel to Philadelphia for their first round matchup as the #1 seed of district 6-2A.

The Cobras won a tie-breaker with St. Andrew’s after the news of the St. Joe forfeitures.  The news also sent Enterprise to the #3 seed and forced Loyd Star to drop to the #4 seed while the Bruins stay at home.
