Two die in weekend shootings in Crystal Springs

LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT officials are pictured in front of the Sak-N-Pak convenience store at the corner of Mathis and Harmony Roads Friday after Crystal Springs native Luke Donahoe was killed in an apparent robbery attempt about 8 p.m. Crystal Springs businesses and Crimestoppers are offering a total of $11,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter.

Crystal Springs native Luke Donahoe was killed in an apparent robbery at Sak-N-Pak on Mathis Road Friday, March 6 and in a separate incident the body of Bridgett Angrum was discovered on Blount Lane at 5 p.m. on the same day by family members.

Twenty-nine year old Donahoe was fatally shot one time in the face during the attempted robbery according the Crystal Springs Investigator Chris Palmer. Donahoe had worked for Sak-N-Pak for a number of years.

It was reported that there was one customer inside the store at the time of the incident

Crystal Springs Police Captain Gerome Leflore said a slender male about 5 feet, 10 inches tall wearing a black baseball cap, a black and white button-down shirt, blue jeans and a black bandanna.is being sought.

Reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter totaling $10,000 by Crystal Springs businesses and $1,000 by Crime Stoppers has been posted. Citizens having information about the incident should call Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS or the Crystal Springs Police Department at 601-892-2121.

In a separate incident, the body of Bridgett Angrum, age 34, was discovered by family members at 1138 Blount Lane, lot 6, near Crystal Springs Friday, March 6 about 5 p.m. She was last seen alive by her mother at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5. Angrum was shot three times in the face. Two children found in the home are now with their grandmother.

Sheriff Harold Jones is asking anyone with information about the Angrum shooting to contact the Copiah County Sheriff’s Department at 601-892-2023.
