Memorial Wall on display at Gallman May 25

A Memorial Day program will be held at Gallman in the Multi-Purpose Building at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 25. Speaker for the occasion is Catherine S. Lutz, General, Mississippi National Guard.

The Memorial Wall will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. until after the ceremony. The panels in the wall are 48 inches tall and 40 inches wide. Each panel holds 80 photos on ceramic tiles. Warriors honored are from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam as well as Afghanistan and Iraq.

The technology is now available to create a memorial wall that not only shows the soldier’s full name but also his full color photo. For generations to come we will not only be able to remember the names of the Americans that paid the ultimate sacrifice but also see the soldiers as they were in full color.

Think about how special this would be if we could go back to the Vietnam Wall, World War II and even the Korean War and have the photos of each American that gave their life.

This is our chance to provide the coming fenerations the opportunity to see the True Cost of Freedom and the Americans that gave their lives for their country.
