Wesson 8’s defeat Copiah

Aaron Mooney delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday night to plate Wesson runner Ethan Gladden and give Wesson a stunning 15-14 victory over the Copiah 8-year old All-Stars.        

Wesson, who had squandered a 12-2 and 14-6 lead during the game, fell prey to hot Copiah bats and sloppy fielding errors that allowed the Copiah County team to work its way back into the game.

Mooney’s single broke a 14-all tie and killed a momentum swinging rally by the Copiah squad.

The Wesson 8’s square off at 8:00 in Summit against Franklin County while Copiah faces the Brookhaven Americans in an elimination game at 6:00p.m.
