Weatherization help available
Southwest Mississippi Opportunity, Inc. Community Action Agency in McComb has announced funds are available through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act Weatherization Program to provide services designed to reduce energy costs. The weatherization process will make the homes of eligible homeowners more energy efficient. The program assists primarily the elderly, disabled or low-income families with young children.
The Weatherization services reduce the amount of energy required to heat or cool a home. It saves dollars, increases comfort in the home, and addresses health and safety concerns. Energy education is also provided to teach families to make “greener” choices and make their homes more energy efficient.
Southwest Mississippi Opportunity, Inc. Community Action Agency serves a ten county area that includes: Adams, Amite, Franklin, Copiah, Claiborne, Jefferson, Lincoln, Pike, Walthall, and Wilkinson County.
