Copiah County will receive a $425,000 Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant to help build a new water well to serve the Copiah Industrial Park.
The project, made possible because of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, is expected to create additional jobs and private investment in the region.
U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said: “This grant will help put people to work and boost private investment in the region by upgrading critical infrastructure to support business expansion plans and serve future business needs.”
Copiah County Economic Development Director Neil Honan said: “The Copiah County Economic Development District and the Copiah County Board of Supervisors are very appreciative of the EDA grant for a new water well.
“This increased water capacity at the Copiah County Industrial Park will further our ability to attract industry and the jobs they provide for the citizens of Copiah County,” continued Honan.
