The Wilmer Durr Trail will be dedicated Monday, Feb. 1, with ceremonies to begin at 10 a.m. at the Copiah County Ministerial Alliance Building presided over by Rep. Gregory Holloway.
The marker in front of the radio station will be dedicated at 11 a.m. with local and county officials present.
The public is invited.
Durr has been a radio personality in Hazlehurst for over 50 years. The highway near Wilmer Durr’s home and the radio station where he has been on the air for decades will soon bear the designation “The Trails of Wilmer Durr” according to actions taken by the State Legislature, Copiah County Board of Supervisors, and Hazlehurst Board of Aldermen.
