Strong, Butler in March 9 special election runoff

The runoff election for Senate District 36 is set after voters in the area went to the polls in last Tuesday’s special election.  The runoff will be held Tuesday, March 9.

Albert Butler of Port Gibson led over Jimmy D. Strong of Carpenter at 1810 to 1622.

Strong carried Copiah County with 984 votes.  In second was Ken Dale Sullivan with 785, followed by Jazma Wheeler with 515, Butler with 384, Kenneth Ramsey with 254 and Elvis Colenberg, Sr. with 183.
