The Hazlehurst Indians hit the road to Natchez on Saturday and came home with two exhibition wins over Port Gibson and Natchez.
“I was pleased overall and especially with our fielding,” stated Indian head coach Vince Granberry. “I think we only had one fielding error in our three games.”

The Indians got a strong pitching performance from Vandyke Thedford who struck out 6 while dealing a four inning no hitter. He issued 5 walks but got enough offense to come away victorious. Gabriel Gray led the Indians with a single and two RBI’s offensively.

Gray pitched for the Indians and threw a no hitter, but walked 6 and hit two Natchez batsmen in giving the home team the victory.
“We have to do a better job of throwing strikes,” stated Granberry. “Other than that I am very pleased at how the weekend turned out.”

The Indians hit the field again Friday at Forest Hill and then travel to Crystal Springs Saturday.
