Motorcyclist killed in construction zone on I-55

Brandon Michael Yancey, 22, of Crystal Springs died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest after losing control of his motorcycle on I-55 early Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred in the road construction zone near Gallman where the resurfaced lane is slightly higher than the other lane. The accident is still under investigation, but it is believed that Yancey lost control due to the lane height difference. He was wearing a helmet and believed to be traveling under the speed limit when the wreck happened.
