WESSON TENNIS WINS SOUTH STATE 2A CHAMPIONSHIP – The Cobras beat Loyd Star to win the title on Friday. St. Joe then defeated Wesson 6-1 in Monday’s state championship. Wesson’s lone victory against St. Joe was nabbed by Gib Britt in the boys singles, 6-1, 6-0. Britt also won the singles district championship. Shown above are the members of the team. Macie Case and Ansley Schimmel competed in #1 girls doubles. Summer Rials and Jordan Nettles played in #2 girls doubles. Anna-Lena Tebbe was in the girls singles. Josh Smith and Abigail Schimmel competed in mixed doubles. Cullen Greer/Brandon Nettles were in the #1 boys doubles. Patrick Lumley/Steve Del Cid were in #2 boys doubles. Case, Schimmel and Britt were individual competitors.
