Jury acquits four accused of rape

A Copiah County jury deliberated for a little over seven hours today and found four men not guilty in a case involving an alleged rape of a female Co-Lin student last fall.
Cameron Clark,19, Damonte Glover,19, Justin Sandifer and Jason West, both 26 were all tried in the case.
The 17-year-old freshman female alleged that the four gang-raped her in a male dormitory while she was severely intoxicated on the night of October 6, 2009.  Surveillance video showed the four men dropping her off at her dormitory, leaving her outside of the dorm’s door.
The defense insisted that the female was a willing participant in any sexual activity that occurred during that night.
The verdict brought to an end three days of deliberations.
