Gospel Fest this Saturday on courthouse grounds

Copiah County continues its gospel tradition with the 11th annual Gospel Fest this Saturday, August 28, staged downtown Hazlehurst at the Courthouse square from 11:00 a.m. until 5 p.m.  The Festival is a great place to commune and fellowship with friends. So bring your entire family and your lawn chairs, you are in for a great time. Admission is free.

Several hundreds are expected to attend this family friendly, alcohol free, spirit filled,  gospel celebration. Many local churches and nearby county churches are scheduled to participate and perform.  The line up is set to reach all ages and to provide an environment of restoration. “You do not want to miss this gospel explosion,” said director Lacey Steward.

Featured singers and performers include:  The Church Exalted Praise Team, Praise Team for Chist, Gallman Chapel Praise Group, St. James Praise Group, St. James, Family Convention Mass Choir, Minister Stalling and the Men of Faith, Westhaven Choir, Fayette Spirituaires, Arnetta Williams, Orange Hill M.B. Church, Manna Harris, Hazlehurst High School Senior group,  Body of Christ MIME Ministry, and many others have committed to coming. Though many have  registered, you are not required to pre-register your church or group.

Other activities include MS Blood Service Blood Drive, Health Screenings by Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health, arts and crafts, food vendors, and  spiritual booth. Activities are planned for the children.  Please prepare your children to enjoy the air rides and water slide.  All children must have adult supervision.

There are other activities planned for the day but will only be mentioned during the  festival. You can expect surprises, games, food and plenty of fun.  Booth registration is required. “We look forward to seeing you there,” said Steward.
