Tour of Duty makes stop in Hazlehurst

Three dozen Americans that many of us would consider heroes came trotting through Copiah County last Saturday.  You may have noticed a caravan of motor homes,  a few runners and a special commemorative fire truck–all of which were part of the 9-11 Tour of Duty Run–slowly and methodically crawling up Hwy. 51 around mid-morning to mid-afternoon.  The 36 runners and the caravan of vehicles are all participating in a month-long event which began in Sacremento, CA on August 12 and will end in New York City on September 11–a trek of nearly 4400 miles.
