Great was the word for the day on Saturday. And, Sam Ellett, Director of the Copiah County Airport got exactly what he hoped for with his first fly-in. The weather was great. A balmy 74 degree temperature and high clouds gave pilots a perfect reason to fly the planes in for some show and tell.
The participation was great. The community came out to see and the planes did not disappoint.
“At our peak there were at least 40 planes that stopped in today,” said Ellett.
“They came from all parts of Mississippi and from as far away as Arkansas and Louisiana. We are very pleased with today’s turnout.”
