HCSD appointments signal change for the better

The state conservator announced the appointment of an assistant superintendent for the Hazlehurst City School District and a principal for the high school during the monthly board meeting on Tuesday.
Conservator Les Daniels appointed Jamilliah Longino to the post of Assistant Superintendent. Demond Radcliff is the new principal for the high school.
Longino was formally the director of the Office of Curriculum and Federal Programs for the school district.
Radcliff was the former principal at North Panola High School since 2008. He is a graduate of Hazlehurst High School. He was awarded an Education Specialist in Education Leadership degree from Augusta State University in 2007. He earned a Master of Science Degree in Management from Troy State University in 2004.
Dr. Daniels was very complimentary of his selection of Longino and Radcliff believing that they are a perfect fit for the school and the community.
Dr. Theresa Green, principal of the Hazlehurst Middle School and Mr. William Trammell principal of the high school will not be returning for the 2011-2012 Academic Year.
GENERAL BUSINESS
Daniels approved the April financial statement and the May Claims’ Docket totaling $726,622.29.
The conservator approved 10 additional personnel hires and five resignations.
The organizational chart for the district was approved.
