Co-Lin rushes past Holmes 47-14

After a Perry Keeler interception, he Wolves went up 3-0 with 8:13 left in the first quarter on a Nolan Long 34-yard field goal.
The Co-Lin defense forced Holmes to put out of their end zone. Returner DeVante Scott ran the ball back to the Bulldog 25 yard line. Quarterback Chandler Rogers scored from a yard out with 12:46 left in the second quarter. Long’s extra point made the score 10-0.
On Holmes’ next possession, the snap sailed over Holmes punter Mitchell Huff’s head and was kicked out of the back of the end zone. The penalty moved the ball to the Bulldogs 1-yard line. Running back Danny Hobbs scored with 9:20 left in the half. Long’s PAT makes the score 17-0.
The Bulldogs drove the ball down the field and scored when Ladarius Redditt scored around left end from seven yards out with 4:48 left in the first half. Holmes attempted a pass on a 2-point conversion, but Huff’s pass was intercepted by cornerback Davian Noble, who raced down the sideline for two points giving the Wolfpack a 19-6 halftime lead.
With 6:36 left in the third quarter, Hobbs got his second touchdown of the night on a 9-yard scamper. Long’s extra point made the score 26-6.
The Bulldogs then answered with a touchdown when Hamner hit wide receiver Jamel Johnson in the right corner of the end zone. Hamner was intercepted again by Noble on the 2-point conversion, but Noble fumbled and Bulldog offensive tackle Shawn Pee raced in from 15-yards away for the Bulldogs’ two points to make the score 26-14.
The Wolfpack added 21 points in the fourth quarter. Robert Wells, a freshman from Fayette, scampered in from 27 yards out with 9:58 to go in the game. Long’s PAT gave the Wolfpack a 33-14 lead. Wells finished the game with 7 carries for 110 yards, all in the fourth quarter.
Harris scored the next two touchdowns for Co-Lin. The first came on a run from 17 yards out with 8:20 left in the game. His next score came with 2:14 to go on a 1-yard run. Long added the PATs to give the Wolfpack a 47-14 victory.
Co-Lin’s ground game amassed 393 yards. Rogers rushed 9 times for 110 yards and was 5-of-14 for 59 yards in the air. Hobbs had 15 carries for 91 yards.
The Wolfpack secondary came up big for the second week in a row with 5 interceptions. Noble had 3 picks, Keeler and Ernest Jones had an interception apiece.
For Holmes, Hamner was 19-of-28 for168 yards. Jacorie Ousley had 4 carries for 61 yards.
